While we are still working our way through July and summer break, we are already very eager for the cross country season to get underway!
For the past few years, we have traditionally opened up our season in Hartford at the Trinity Invitational. This year, we will be switching things up and heading up to Maine for a season opener at the competitive Bates Super XC Super Shootout! At the end of September, we will trek up to Western Mass. for the Purple Valley Classic. This will be a great opportunity for the team to face quality competition, as well as get acquainted with the 2019 NESCAC XC Championship course! After being local for a few weeks, we will split the squad and take a handful of athletes to Louisville, Kentucky for an opportunity to compete at the Greater Louisville Classic / DIII Pre-National Meet at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. That same weekend, the rest of our Camel crew will make a trip over to Rhode Island for the CCRI Tri-State Invite! Rounding out the regular season portion of schedule, we will host the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park. This year is once again shaping up to be another very competitive meet, as we will be welcoming a handful of strong steams from the Atlantic, Mid-East, South/Southeast, Midwest, and Central Regions!
The championship portion of our schedule will consist of NESCAC Championships at Williams College, the USATF New England Championships at Franklin Park, the NCAA DIII Regional Meet at Bowdoin, and the 2019 NCAA DIII XC Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
We certainly hope to see as many families, friends, and alumni as possible out on the cross country circuit this fall. As the support and cheering is always welcomed no matter where we’re competing! Go Camels!
